Calling transfem(inist) authors and artists!

The project

Trans Sisters Forever, edited by Sara Moiseff, will be a trans-feminist zine publishing essays, writing and other art from a variety of trans women (and trans-feminine) authors. All work must be submitted by June 15th, 2026. The zine will be published July 15th, 2026.

What to submit

  • Essays or short stories, between 1,000 and 7,000 words

  • Poetry, no more than two pages

  • Visual artwork

  • Something else (so long as it could be published in a print zine)

(All writing must be in English, for the sake of editorial review.)

The work you submit should be trans-feminist in nature, meaning it should focus on one of the following:

  • The liberation of trans women as it relates to the liberation of all women

  • Expanding on or challenging the work of a previous feminist author

  • Trans women's lived experiences, especially as influenced by other position maladies such as race, class, disability, etc.

  • Politics, organizing, current events

  • Other related topics

Cover drawing + design

If you are a (visual) artist who would like to design the zine's cover, let Sara know! You will not be paid up front but you will, along with all the other contributors, receive an even split of the zine's profits. If no one is specifically interested in doing this, Sara will either commission someone or make the cover herself. Sara is not an especially adept graphic designer.

Compensation

Contributors will not be paid up front. The profits from the zine will be split evenly among contributors.

Distribution

The zine will be published digitally. There may or may not be a physical publication.

Other rules

Your work may or may not be published, depending on what you submit and how many people submit!

The use of generative AI or LLMs is prohibited. All submitted work must be created by humans. All people involved in the creation of a particular piece of work must be credited.

Contributors are expected to edit and review their own work before submission. Sara retains final editing privileges.

You may submit work that has been published before, if you are the person who owns the publishing rights.
